writers conference

LOCATION

The moment I saw the brilliant, proud morning shine high up
over the deserts of Santa Fe, something stood still in my soul, and I started to attend.

     - D. H. Lawrence, Phoenix

Santa Fe has long attracted artists and writers to its stunning setting and vibrant community. Our conference takes place at the Santa Fe Complex in the heart of the city’s newly revitalized Railyard Art District. Conference participants can experience the unique mix of cultures that has always characterized New Mexico. There will be free time to sample world-class museums, internationally renown S.I.T.E. Santa Fe, El Museo Cultural and new contemporary art galleries at the Railyard and dine on gourmet and regional cuisine at a variety of nearby restaurants, or escape for outdoor activities in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. At 7000 feet, Santa Fe days are warm and the nights cool, a wonderful climate for your fall visit.

This year all events will be hosted at the Santa Fe Complex.

Santa Fe Complex is located next to the Railyard Art District and within walking distance of the hotels, restaurants and shops at the Plaza downtown. Santa Fe Complex is housed in two facilities, the conference area at 624 Agua Fria and the project space at 632 Agua Fria.

Parking is available via Romero St. in one of two ways:

  • Take Romero St. southbound (it’s one-way) from Agua Fria. When it opens into a two-way road, turn right into the parking lot.

  • Take Manhattan north from St. Francis. Turn left onto Romero St. When Manhattan ends at the Railyard, continue on Romero until you reach the do not enter signs (where Romero St. becomes one way) then turn left into the parking lot.

  • Sunday morning brunch with speaker talks will take place at Collected Works Bookstore. Collected Works is an independent and locally-owned business, located on the corner of Galisteo & Water Streets in downtown Santa Fe, just blocks from the Santa Fe Complex and halfway between the Railyard Art District and Santa Fe’s historic Plaza.
