A noted feminist and the author of seven works of prose, Sallie Bingham has won her share of awards, including prizes for short-short stories (two from Glimmer Train) and for plays (Mill Mountain Theatre and Goucher College). She has won fellowships to those blessed retreats for writers, the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, Blue Mountain, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. In addition, book reviewing has been important to her career, and she credits the Louisville Courier-Journal for teaching her about the publishing industry. Sallie will be speaking at 10:15 am on Saturday.
